Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My doctor has increased my synthroid from 112 to 126 because my tsh levels have increased. I have been having extreme soreness in all my joints and stiff upon rising from a setting position. Could this be contributed to the tsh levels? I have hypothyroidism.
Dear patient Hypothyroidism leads to soreness all over body and not only joints. In this condition TSH is increased and T3 T4 are decreased. So synthyroid is given to supplement T3 T4 which decreases level of TSH. Since your tests shows high TSH level in blood your doctor has increased dose of synthyronin to maintain TSH level. Hypothyroidism may also lead to joint pain as it is associated with obesity and arthritis. So treat hypothyroidism well and it benefits whole body.
