What Causes Soreness In The Pelvic Area?

I have a soreness in the left pelvis area. The skin is sore to the touch and I sometimes have a burning pain in th skin above the vulva and in my lower back at the dimple area. What could be causing this? No injury to my body. It started as a pain like a tight panty line and gradually migrated to my back.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

According to your description the possible causes are Pelvic inflammatory disease leading to pelvic pain and backache. Any local irritation to undergarments. Urinary tract infection leading to pelvic pain and backache. If the symptoms are persistent better to consult your gynecologist once, get examined and if needed go for ultrasound. By this work up possibly the cause of your problem can be identified and treatment can be taken accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
