What Causes Soreness In The Trachea?

My trachea is sore to the touch on the right side of my adam s apple . I was recent in a car accident where we were rear-ended. The spot is slightly swollen also. It doesn t hurt when I swallow but occasionally when turn my neck or tilt my head back it hurts. Is it my thyroid? Or my trachea?

Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query.
The soreness in the trachea or throat can be because of the bacterial infection. The other possible cause can be a calcified stylohyoid ligament. Nothing to be panic, consult an ENT surgeon and get it evaluated. Mean while you can take a course of antibiotics like Azithromycin (if you are not allergic). For the pain on turning your neck, you need to consult a oral physician and get some radiographs like OPG doe to confirm the diagnosis, later on confirmation it can be managed accordingly.
I hope I have answered your query, take care.
