I am 65 years old quite fit and healthy, but my tongue has been sore since March. I have tried everything possible to get rid of it but it never goes away!!!!I was originally told I had a virus but this has been going on for far too long. Please help Heather
Hi Heather There are numerous causes of glossitis(sore tongue) but the most frequent is usually due to a vitamin deficiency. A vitamin deficiency may be due to 1 of 2 reasons. Inadequate intake or inadequate absorption. Try supplementing your diet daily with Vitamin B-12 or B-Complex. Let me know how it goes.
