I have had a sore on the side of my tonque for many months..two doctors have looked one biopised it..not cancer But still there and painful .there is a tooth on that side that I just found out needs to be pulled...how do.I know What else causes it?
Constant sore which is not cancerous and presence of irritating tooth adjacent to it suggest it is due to tooth only. Yet if you want to know other factors that cause it then they are many like vitamin deficiency, tuberculosis, viral infection, and many.you can Google out causes of oral ulcers. Hope this will help.
Hello, Thank you for consulting with HCM. There are many causes of sore on the tongue it can be aphthous ulcer or a traumatic ulcer. Apthous ulcer does not occur at the same place , they keep on changing the area and they are recurrent. If the ulcer is situated at the same area on the tongue and even you are mentioning that you have a decayed tooth then it can be a traumatic ulcer only which is caused by it. Better you visit a good dentist and get it extracted. Hope it will help you.
