What Causes Spinning Sensation When I Lay Down?

Just checking out info about vertigo. I have had the spinning feeling for two weeks, following a bad head cold with a lot of mucus (Mucinex was great at breaking that up - no longer needing to take that). The spinning only happens when I lay down and get up, moving my head a certain way. I do not have any ear pain. I have not visited my doctor yet as I was hoping it would soon pass and I don t think there is much that can be done. Am I correct about that? Never mind - didn t realize I had to pain for an opinion . . . will visit my local MD

Hello,

You may be suffering from acute viral rhinopharyngitis with eustachian tube blockage maybe the reason for your vertigo. Other possibilities like viral labyrinthitis. Avoid cool drinks and freeze water. Avoid smoking and alcohol.

Use water vapor inhalation and saltwater gargling thrice a day for five days. Use tablet alday dc twice a day for five days. If symptoms not improved, please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
