What Causes Spitting Up Blood?

Hi, I am 57 year old, do not smoke, do not drink. For a few months, I notice that my early morning spit is dark reddish, a couple of times. Then there is no recurrence throughout the day but again in the next day morning. I suffer from accute snorring for many years. My entire mouth and the tongue are very dry while i wake up from bed. Then it becomes normal. My mother had stomach cancer and undergone a permanent colostomy. Please advise.

Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query.
The cause for spitting blood in the morning time is because of the gum infection secondary to deposits. Since you are giving history of snoring, it causes dryness in the oral cavity and makes the gums more prone to infection. Particularly during night time, the salivary production is very low due to lack of stimuli. On that the snoring or mouth breathing will make the oral cavity dry. Nothing to worry, consult a oral physician and get it evaluated. Get your teeth cleaned.
I hope my answer will help you, take care.
