What Causes Sporadic Pain On The Flanks?

Hi I have rah sporadic right flank pain on and off over the last few years. Over te last four days I have had intermittent pain into right flank that tends to radiate around to the front and drop down into my hip, position and moving doesn t worsen or better it. My urine seems dark but otherwise normal, I drank a gallon of water yesterday thinking I was not hydrated and nothing helps.
