What Causes Spotting After Having Amoxicillin For Chest Infection?
I do not have periods as I take Desomo contraception and have been this way for over a year. I have recently taken a course of Amoxicilin for a chest infection which I finished yesterday. Over the last couple of days I have noticed blood on my underwear and tissue when I use the toilet. What could be causing this?

Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Amoxicillin causes decreased efficacy of the hormonal contraceptive you are taking. Hence when amoxicillin is taken, there is decreased hormonal levels in the body leading to spotting and withdrawal bleeding.
