Hi.. well I haven't had my period for more three months. But for past few days I have noticed blood (very little)on my underwear... and I change but after I check in a few hour.. There will be nothing.. but the next day again same thing happens. .is this normal?? Hope to hear from you soon P.S: I'm a virgin 19 years old..
Ideally a pregnancy test is first thing to do, if periods have been missed for three months. However, in your case it is unlikely because there is no history of sexual intercourse. A hormonal problem due mainly to ovarian function is likely to be the reason. We do need a complete history of your diet, lifestyle, body mass index (BMI).
Blood investigations to assess your general and hormonal function could be carried out along with ultrasound to rule out any anomalies in uterus or ovaries. If you still have not got your periods then a 5 day course of progesterone (Duphaston 5 mg twice a day) could be taken. The period should start after 3-5 days of stopping the medication. It is always better to undergo this work up and medications under specialist gynaecologist care.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
