OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi dear, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Spotting or bleeding in early pregnancy can be due to threatened or missed abortion, or bleeding around the fetus( subchorionic haemorrhage).
Susten is progesterone which is given to make the uterine environment more favourable For the fetus. Stopping taking this drug can lead to spotting if the progesterone support of the body is not adequate.
I would suggest her to get a ultrasound done to confirm the diagnosis and get appropriate treatment.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Wishing you good health.
