Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Spotting or recurrent bleeding in pregnancy can be due to : 1. Low lying placenta( placenta previa) 2. Any retroplacental hematoma 3. Idiopathic( no cause found) In your wife's case, since the ultrasound is normal, the cause is mostly idiopathic. In such scenario, the management is conservative, with avoiding heavy exercises, avoiding intercourse and administration of progesterone ( Susten in your case) to make the uterine environment more favourable for foetus Since the growth of the fetus is normal, there is no need to worry. I would suggest her to take the above said precautions and treatment as advised by your doctor. Hope you found the answer helpful. Wishing you good health. Dr Deepti Verma
