My doctor put me on qlaria last month because I have had spotting between period since January this year. Two weeks after I began taking it I began spotting heavier and more regular for 10days and then my period came the next day. Is this normal and when could I expect this bleeding to stop, because my period has finished but I m still spotting. My partner and I am becoming impatient since we are not having intercourse due to this spotting.
The contraceptive pill is not effective in your case to stop spotting. Hence detailed evaluation needs to be done for rule out the underlying cause.
It's advisable to investigate with ultrasonography pelvis, serum TSH estimation, serum DHEA estimation, serum FSH and LH estimation for primary work up.
These work up will help in rule out fibroid, endometriosis, ovarian cause etc if present. You need to consult gynaecologist again for all above work up and pelvic examination.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
