General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

The symptoms of your mother can be related to peripheral neuropathy due to diabetes.
I suggest to try an anti inflammatory medication such as Acetaminophen to relieve the symptoms.
If the symptoms continue, I suggest using a prescription painkiller such as Gabapentin.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
