What Causes Stiffness And A Lump Around A Testosterone Injection Site?

I have been doing 60 mg intramuscular testosterone injections for two weeks. My first injection was in my left thigh, my second was my right. It has been 5 days since the right thigh injection and the usual soreness has turned into intense pain when the area is touched. The area has also become very stiff and hard but no bulging lump or redness. What does this mean?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It could be due to injury to the underlying soft tissue which causes pain.It is usually common with im injection and will subside in 3-4 days. Apply warm heat on the area ,take analgesics as needed. Do not worry,it will go off.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
