What Causes Stiffness And Pain In Joints?

Hello, I m having severe joint pain in my ankles, knees, wrists and elbows. Occassionally my hips and shoulders get stiff but not as bad as my other joints. It is most severe in the mornings and eases up as I start to move around, but still lasts throughout the day. I am 21 yrs old and otherwise in good health. Its been going on for a few months now. Aleve is helping. I tested negative for Lymes disease and arthritis.

Hello,

Your symptoms are suggestive of rheumatoid arthritis.

For this reason, I recommend consulting with a rheumatologist for a physical exam and performing some tests:
- Complete blood count, PCR, ESR
- ANA, ANCA titer antibodies
- LDH
- Vitamin D plasma levels
- Rheumatoid factor plasma levels.
You should discuss with your doctor on the above tests.
