What Causes Stiffness In Neck When Suffering From Sinus Infection?

I have been experiencing symptoms for sinus infection but now that I have completed 1 prescription for sinus infection ( amoxicillium), then a second doctor prescribed a Z-pack I still feel bad.Low energy, neck stiffness and just bad; and not myself.The doctor gave me a refill for the Z-pack and said to take it if I stiff felt bad. But, I really wander if I dont have pneumonia. What do you think I should do next to get well?

Hi,

Thank you for your query.

1. I am assuming that you have received supportive treatment along with the antibiotics. Antibiotics alone will not help relieve the discomfort. If not request your doctors to prescribe anti-allergic, mucolytic, anti-inflammatory medication and take regular steam inhalation.

2. The neck stiffness and feeling ill signifies a severe sinusitis.

3. If a patient is not responding after 4-8 weeks of treatment, a nasal endoscopy, nasal swabs and a plain Sinus CT Scan is recommended.
