Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Intermenstrual spotting can be seen due to different causes like : Hormonal imbalance Local abrasions, cervical or uterine polyps etc. To rule out the possibility of pregnancy and to confirm the exact cause of the problem, you better consult your Gynecologist once get examined and go for ultrasound. This will help in ruling out any local causes and also ultrasound helps in ruling out uterine and cervical causes. Meanwhile antifibrinolytic like tranexamic acid will help in decreasing the spotting. If hormonal imbalance is found to be the cause, cyclical hormonal pills can help in decreasing the spotting and in regularization of menstrual cycles.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
