What Causes Stomach Ache And Diarrhea In A Child?
10 year old had strep throat 9 days ago. Also had what looked like an infected mole show up on her back. (Don t know if that s relevant) Day 3, Developed a stomach ache. Went to emergency clinic. Diagnosed the strep throat. Got antibiotics. Sore throat went away within 2 days. Stomach ache has not. Pretty much sleeps all day in the fetal position. Second trip to clinic on day 7. Blood work done. White blood cells are normal. Still hasn t been able to eat without horrible stomach pain and diarrhea. Has lost aprox 6 lbs. Which is a lot consideringredients she s very thin to begin with. Any ideas?

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Diarrhea could be because of antibiotic for strep sore throat (Amoxicillin or Amoxicillin Clavulenate).
Unless the kid's having low urine output or very dull or excessively sleepy or blood in motion or green bilious vomiting. You need not worry.
I suggest you use zinc supplements (Z&D drops 1ml once daily for 14 days) and ORS (Each small packet mixed of potable water and keep giving sip by sip) as hydration is very important and crucial part of treatment. Apart form this Probiotics like saccharomyces boulaardii will help a lot.
