What Causes Stomach And Abdominal Pain After Intercourse?
I am Sixteen Years old, And not On Birth Control. My boyfriend and I have been having unprotected sex. The Past three days or so, I have had horrible pain in my lower left abdomen. It feels like a cramp but is way worse and in the wrong place to be a one. I've taken pregnancy tests at home and they've all said negative. My stomach feels hard, And I feel sick throughout the day. What could be causing this pain and sickness?
Hello, In the current scenario, you need to have a sonogram, preferably through the trans-vaginal route to exclude/confirm pregnancy, especially, any ectopic gestation. The sonogram also helps to rule out ovarian causes. If pregnancy is excluded and the state of the pelvic organs is normal, these symptoms could mean an impending period. Home pregnancy tests can read well 3-7 days after a missed period and if you have not yet missed a period, an estimation of the serum beta-hCG titres is helpful after 21 days into the cycle. The sonogram may not be of much use so early. Hope this helps.
