What Causes Stomach Bloating After Using Mirena IUD?

I have had the Mirena IUD since May 2012. I have had no problems with it since then. However, I have had a lot of lower tummy bloating for the past several months and wondering if it s related to the Mirena. I normally have flat abs and can t figure out the problem. I eat healthy and take probitoics. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2005, so I deal with some fatigue and brain fog, though I have read recently that the Mirena can cause fatigue and bloating. Also, when I had my Gyno exam last month, the doctor couldn t see/find the strings. I remember my doc that inserted the IUD had cut the strings short so my husband wouldn t feel it. Do I need to find out if it s still properly inserted? I ve been miserably swollen in the tummy for several months and my friends say I look pregnant. Two pregnancy tests have shown negative. Help. :(

hello.....
you are having merina since 2 years and now you are having problem , that indicates that symptoms are not due to merina because they will occur immediately after insertion if it is due to merina.
you also had history of use of probiotics..so, better rule out other surgical possibilities which are not related to gynic.Consult a gastroenterologist
Use of plenty of fiber diet like green leafy vegetables and plenty of water.
If you have doubt of misplaced merina get an xray abdomen it will show the position of merina.
Practice yoga to get rid of belly like kapalbathi,and some other asanas.
