What Causes Stomach Bloating And Pain After An Accident?

My sister was in a car accident 5 days ago and has a mild contusion on her second vertebra. But she has been having bad bloating and stomach pain. All the CT scans said nothing was wrong with her stomach. Is there a way to alleviate this. Antacids and pepto are not helping.

Hi,
As pain in stomach and bloating after accident could be due to hyper acidity caused by tension & stress of trauma (accidental).
In this kind of cases CT abdomen often comes normal unless there is any minor or major trauma inside.
If you have ultrasound abdomen not done then you can go for it and if required you must undergo upper GI endoscopy to rule out any internal injury inside stomach as in your case antacids is not getting effective.
Treatment will be depend on the cause if any.
You can take antacid gel along with proton pump inhibitors with antispasmodics as a symptomatic treatment.
Consult gastro surgeon for further advise.
