What Causes Stomach Cramping, Diarrhea And Umbilical Area Pain?

It started with stomach cramping and diarrhea shortly after eating. I thought it was an IBS episode; however, there has been a severe pain 1 inch above my belly button. I have an appetite, but when I eat anything, the pain gets worse. No more diarrhea. Pain has come and gone from Friday afternoon until today. Pain is better today. I began taking Nexium Saturday morning. What would cause this to occur?
