What Causes Stomach Cramps And Digestion Problems After Taking Rabies Prevention Vaccine?

had second rabies prevetnion shot last Thursday and have had digestion problems including stomach cramps since but more difficult is the ongoing headache hav had for the past five days. no temperature, but could any of this be from the vaccintation. i am due another shot before flying to remote Afrcan area for 8 weeks - i fly next Friday so nee to decide whether to have the third shot.

Hello,

Digestion problems could be due to acute gastroenteritis most probably viral. Stomach cramps can be eased by having light meals, take probiotics and lots of fluids especially water with oral re-hydration salts; antacids can help.

You can take the third shot safely before flying next Friday. Take some medications for travelling diarrhea with you such as:
- Pepto Bismol or Tasectan
- probiotics
- oral re-hydration salts
