What Causes Stomach Cramps And Gas During 38 Weeks Of Pregnancy?

I will be 38 weeks Tuesday. I have been dilated to a 3-4 for two weeks and Thursday I was about 80-90% effaced. Today I wiped after using the restroom and there was a gob of clear mucus like resedue in the toilet paper. I am now having some cramping. Thought maybe it was gas. Although I haven t been able to pass any gas. It actually hurts when I push to try to pass the gas . My lower stomach feels tight and achey
