What Causes Stomach Cramps With Pinkish Slimy Discharge?
hi I have just come back from egypt a month ago and have since had belly cramps and going toilet about 4-6 times a day and have pinky brown gunge coming out on the tissue, the toilet and some times I think I need to poo and just lumps of gunge comes out?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted your history of coming back from Egypt a month ago, cramping and frequent motions since then. There is pink brown discharge. This is obviously due to the intestinal infection. I would advise you the following in such a situation: Send the stool for tests on 3 consecutive days. Get started on proper antibiotic and metronidazole cover. Take probiotics, curd/yogurt and bananas. Identify the foods and beverages that instigate or enhance your problems and stop altogether,. Control of stress and/or anxiety is very important. IF there is no complete relief within 5 days consult a Gastroenterologist for clinical evaluation, examination and further tests lik colonoscopy, biopsy and additional treatment.
