Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Stomach Discomfort Along With Nausea And Vomiting?
My wife is a 72 year old female, in very good health. She is a vegan, and is gluten intolerant (though not apparently a factor in this case. She is experiencing stomach discomfort, and nausea, but has not vomited. Even an ice ship makes her feel nauseous. She has chills and general weakness. No apparent fever. Symptoms started when she woke up this morning - 6.5 hours ago.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
The most likely differential diagnosis would be acidity/gastritis or a cardiac illness. Sometimes it is quite difficult to distinguish the two. it would be better if you give her an antacid and see how she responds. If she is not better within half an hour , better to visit the hospital, and get additional investigations done.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
