What Causes Stomach Issues While On Depakote?

Hello My step daughter has been on depakote ER since late January 2018. I am not sure but she has complained of stomach aches occasionally, at least one where she could not focus. Another stomach ache she had today. I have tried giving her stomach antacid and ginger ale right now. She is also using a heating pad. Could this possibly be side effect of the depakote? Any ideas. She can t descrobe her pain either...I thought it was because of her menstrual cramps...don t know.
