What Causes Stomach Pain After Insertion Of Mirena IUD?
Hi, I recently had a mirena IUS inserted (exactly 23 days ago). I have noticed that one string seems to have receded into the cervix, disappearing completely, whilst the other remains, on it s own. I have started to have sharp jabbing sensations of pain, which are triggered by flexing my stomach muscles, particularly coughing or bending over, and have no other symptoms or medication.
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Pain in abdomen and cramps after Mirena insertion can be due to infection or due to perforation of uterus by the mirena. Moreover, if you are not feeling the thread Mirena, then the chances of perforation are there. I would suggest you to consult with your doctor as soon as possible so that proper examination and ultrasound can be done and further management should be done accordingly Hope you found the answer helpful.
