Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have MS. Yesterday, I had sever stomach pain followed by two boughs of loose watery stools. This morning I had a small bought. I have not had further BM but after urinating, I feel the need to also clean my rectal area. I have mucus discharge with bright red blood in it from my rectal.
Bright red color stool might be indicative of bleeding from distal/terminal portion of GIT i.e. from large intestine to anus.
In your case, you might be having anal fissure then it could be the reason but the other causes must be ruled out like large bowel obstruction, acute gastroenteritis, ulcerative colitis, intussuception etc.
You may require thoroughly clinical examination with proctoscopy and colonoscopy to rule out any other lower GIT etiologies.
You may require antibiotics(quinolones-ofloxacin with antiprotozoals- metronidazole/ornidazole) with topical steroids and antihistamines to prevent bleeding if it is coming from anus otherwise treatment is mainly depend on the underlying cause.
