Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 9 yr old daughter complained of stomach pain back in early September. I took her to see a pediatrician. They x-rayed her and said it was constipation. They said to give her a child's fleet enema and myralax daily. We have been back to see dr approx 7 or 8 times over this. My daughter is having bowel movements at least every other day if not daily. She says her stomach hurts. She is swollen in the belly and at times her belly is tight. She complains several times a day about being uncomfortable & hurting. I do have another dr appt for Monday. However, I am wondering if I've let this go too long and need to see dr as soon as possible. I am really worried.
Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic.
A kid who passes motion on alternate days doesn't quality to have a constipation and I suggest that your kid might be having a functional pain abdomen...for which no cause will be found out even after extensive investigations. Usually a pain suppressive medication at the time of pain will do.
Other possibilities are - stones in kidney or in gall bladder of there is a family history and best investigation to rule these out will be Ultra sound abdomen.
Hope my answer was helpful for you. I am happy to help any time. Further clarifications and consultations on Health care magic are welcome. If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer. Wish your kid good health. Dr. Sumanth MBBS., DCH., DNB (Paed).,
