Hi doctor, I'm a 21yr old male.i have been having pain in the center of my torso just between my ribs, pain is internal.i threw up a couple of days back as some food and drinks didn't agree with me.beer and seafood to be precise.the pain has started ever since.i am looking for any advise to help the pain.thank you
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood your concerns. Pain in upper abdomen between the ribs after tolerating seafood and beer in the form of vomiting and later pain can be due to gastritis. I would advise you the following in such a situation: Take a PPI like Omeprazole. Antacid every three hours. Domperidone if nausea or vomiting. See the results. Take a soft bland diet. Do not repeat anything of the foods and beverages that cause similar symptoms. If there is no complete relief, you will need an upper GI Endoscopy and further management as per the additional cause found. Take soft and bland diet in small and frequent way. No drinking or smoking. Rest at home till you get well. All these measure will help you to get well and not to repeat the symptoms.
