What Causes Stomach Pain Every Morning?

My dad is 60 years old and has stomach pain every morning, especially when he eats the night before. He has lost a significant amount of weight in the last year and says this has been going on for a year....he soaks in the tub every morning for about 10 mintues and then feels better. He feels better when he doesn t eat. He weighs about 145. He is finally going to the Doctor to get it checked out however, he does not like going to the Doctor and our family is very worried. Any advice?

Hello,

The symptoms of your dad seem to be related to gastritis.

I recommend using antacids such as Malox.

I also recommend using Omeprazole to lower the amount of acid in the stomach.

I suggest drinking liquids and avoid caffeinated drinks which can trigger the symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
