My 4yo daughter has been complaining of a sore tummy it seems to be worse at night, she can get teary at bedtime and complains that it is worse when she is lying down.... we have seen a dr a couple of time in last 6mths but they have said cut out dairy and see, this doesnt seem to be the problem... dont know if it is an attention thing or what,...??
Hi.... the most common cause of pain in the abdomen in the scenario which you have just now explained is mesenteric adenitis or swelling up of the lymph nodes in the abdomen.
This is a self limiting disorder and the only thing which you need to do is give Paracetamol for pain relief at the appropriate dose.
But if there is a family history of kidney stones are all gallbladder stones I suggest you go ahead with an ultrasound abdomen to rule out the same.
