What Causes Stomach Upset After Having Doxycycline Hyclate For Chest Infection?

I was put on DoxycyclineHyclate 100mg for a chest infection, I am allergic to Penicillin, I am finding it it upsetting my stomach, and I have had for several years bad acid reflux, it says not to take an antacid while on this medication, so what do I do for my heartburn/acid reflux???

I understand your query.
Doxycycline sometimes creates gastric upsets, specially so when taken on an empty stomach.
- Take it after food. avoid spicy food if you have acid reflux problem.Raise head end while sleeping.
- You can take H2 receptor blockers like Ranitidne to relieve your present problem.
