I recently had a brain MRI with contrast. The MRI shows subcostal leukomalacia. I asked the doctor what this means. She wasn t sure. I am 68 years old, 156 lbs, 5 4 . I have had breast cancer twice. I know it affects the white matter. I need to know what this is and what can be done about it. Thank you.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
It is the nonspecific necrotic changes in brain (White matter ) but in the age of 68 years old it is less likely, the condition need to be correlate with the clinical condition you have, else it is nothing to take with history of breast malignancy
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
