What Causes Subcutaneous Masses Behind The Ears And On Forehead?

my husband have been having bp 140/90. The doctor prescribe 5mg exforge, but after 9 days the bp is the same and he started getting subcutaneous masses behind the ears and forhead, he sttopped the medicine 4 days ago and they haven't got away. Could the masses be reaction of the medicine or something else?
