What Causes Sudden And Severe Pain In Head?

i had a very sudden and severe pain in my head earlier today. It was much worse than headache, only lasted about 60 seconds. Since my left side of face has been tinkly, not numb but not normal. This feeling goes form face down through neck and in left arm. Checked BP shortly after it was 137 / 67 so not bad is my understanding. It has been about 9 hours since the sharp pain so was surprised by face etc stil feeling this way. Any thing I should check?

Hi.

I've gone through your query. I can understand your anxiety.

Your symptoms might be due to Classic migraine with pain radiating to fingers & tingling, which is the typical unilateral presentation of migraine . It sometimes present with  nausea, vomiting, stomach upset, dizziness & radiating pain, pale skin etc. I advice you to,
1. To take Analgesics like Naproxen /paracetamol & Triptans
2. Neck massage & Stretching exercises.
4. Have Caffeine drinks
5. Avoid exposure to light, noise etc which can result in headache
6. Also do a X -RAY NECK to rule out cervical rib if any, incase of repeated episodes of headache.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Get well soon.
