What Causes Sudden Chest Tightness And Congestion In The Throat After Eating?

Hi. My mother just had an episode. She was fine, we were eating and suddenly she said she had tightness in her chest and a few minutes into it phlegm started coming up her throat with no coughing. Now, about 10 minutes later she said she feels fine again but has never felt anything like that before.any ideas?

Your query being appreciated, tightness symptom of chest needs to be taken seriously and it may not be taken granted for something which is not the disease condition, condition needs to be ruled out for cardiac disease, even though it is the sputum expelled out, because it could be cardiac disease, it could be allergic condition, I would suggest to get done the EKG, apart from all of these such tightness of chest could be due to acid peptic disease, and for that PPI (Proton pump inhibitor can be tried ) Tab Omeprazole 40 mg once in day, for three weeks hope this information helps.
