Hi My prolactin level is as follows PROLACTIN 3 - 30 ng/mL 14, but I have not had my period for 35 days.. I am 44 years old, and never missed a period only twice, and that was with each pregnancy, carried both full terms no complications. Just wondering If I should be concernd

Hello,
Thanks for letting us know your health concern. Your serum prolactin levels are within normal limits. Considering your age, it is more likely that you may have entered the perimenopause and menstrual irregularities are common in this phase due to decreasing hormone production. You can wait for a week more and get further help if you do not see your period even after ten days. You need a complete clinical evaluation, a pap smear, urinalysis, sonogram of the pelvis and a complete hormone assay to help plan further management. Please maintain a healthy BMI and regular exercise. Hope this helps.
