What Causes Sudden Feeling Of Fainting?

This morning while talking on the phone I began to feel faint. Actually, it felt like I was blacking out, the feeling radiating from the back of my skull, coming around my head in two waves. I thought I was going to totally black out but then it subsided and went away. I feel a little under the weather since then and tired. Could this be a small stroke?
