Hi. I am having some sharp sudden headaches that go away quickly. They last a couple seconds and are usually around my right temple. Also some facial pain that lasts a few seconds. I went to the ER the first time and had a CT scan. Its not as bad as it was but still is happening. I have severely pulled my trap muscle twice in the past month and I wonder if I have a pinched nerve in my neck.
I read carefully your question and would explain that your symptoms seem to be related to trigeminal neuralgia.
Other possible causes to consider would be temporal arteritis (although your symptoms are not typical of this disorder) and SUNCT.
Coming to this point, I would recommend consulting with a neurologist for a physical exam and some tests: - a brain MRI - complete blood count, ESR, PCR for inflammation. You may need to start antiepileptic drugs in case the diagnosis of trigeminal neuralgia is confirmed.
Hope to have been helpful! Wishing all the best!
