What Causes Sudden Itchy Rashes On The Hands And Feet Despite Taking Benedryl And Zantac?
Twice in the past year I have had sudden onset of rash with hives and intense itching. Starts with the fingers and spreads to the entire hands and feet. Then to arms legs and the torso. Tonight I also have a sense of a lump in my chest No recent food I take. No pets, same bed partner for 10 years. No travel. No house guests. No new foods or medications .I took 50 mg of Benadryl and 150 of Zantac also a tepid bath with baking soda
Hi. As per your case you are having urticaria. It may be food or drug related. My treatment advice is - 1. Avoid fast food and food with artificial colors for 2 months. 2. Apply a soothing lotion like calamine lotion on affected region twice daily. 3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days. 4. Other treatment options are oral steroid like prednisone or betamethasone taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
