What Causes Sudden Onset Of Confusion In An Elderly Person?

My mom takes donzepil. She is 91 now and has been on this med with a blood pressure pill. Lately ((after two 1000 mile trips in a car since July) she has been confused. Normally she functions pretty well. She still washed herself and cooks for herself. Do you think the trips out of town to two funerals have something to do with this new confusion?please respond to YYYY@YYYY

Hello,
Yes, the trips could be the cause. In patients with dementia any change in the routine can cause a disruption in their thinking and behavior for days to weeks. It is also good to have her see her doctor since minor infections can also cause the same problem.
