What Causes Sudden Onset Of Ringing Sound In The Ears, Nausea And Sweating?

Once in awhile I get this sudden onset of ringing in the ears, nausea and sweating. It lasts about 20 minutes and it's gone. I'll feel like I'm going to pass out so I have to sit down. And sometimes it seems associated with a bowel movement. Is it serious?
