Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Sudden Palpitaions With Cold Body Temprature And Nausea?
I am 66year old female . My heart suddenly started racing 150 beats a minute very irregular. Felt cold and clammy and drained of energy and a we bit nauseous. nine hours later it jumped back to normal rhythm and most symtoms disappeared. Could there be any heart damage?
thanks for the query. I suspect that you suffered a paroxysm of atrial fibrillation, by itself it is a benign rhythm but can be associated with increased risk of stroke and heart damage if the arrhythmia persists at high pulse rates for prolonged periods of time. I urge you to visit either an internal medicine doctor or a cardiologist for further evaluation of potential causes behind the arrhythmia and workup, which may include an event or Holter monitor depending on the frequency of the events.
Hope this helps, wish you the best,
