Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I AM EXPERIENCING REDDISH PURPLISH BRUISES WHICH CAN APPEAR SUDDENLY FOR NO REASON AND CERTAINLY IF I SHOULD BUMP SOMETHING SLIGHTLY - I HAVE r.ARTHRITIS AND INJECT MYOCRISIN FOR THIS - THIS HAS ONLY OCCURRED SERIOUSLY IN THE LAST MONTH - BOTH ARMS ARE GETTING VERY DISCOLOURED - I AM 75 YEARS - I HAVE HAD A LOT OF SURGERY ON SPINE AND THEREFORE TAKE PAIN KILLERS - MAINLY p.oSTEO AND pANADOL FORTE - CAN YOU ADVISE??
Yes with the medications you take and the ailments you suffered, simple brusing leading to extended extravasation of blood underneath the hit-area could be due to deranged clotting mechanisms in your body. And perhaps, going by your age, reduced esteogen levels also promote anti-clotting environment. I advise you to consult your doctor and get the blood investigations done accordingly. If everything comes out to be normal, you may as well consider taking jus paracetamol as pain killers and avoid other forms of it.
