What Causes Sudden Ventricular Failure?

Hi my mum has just died very suddenly this week and very quickly , and the death cert states - left ventricular failure, - it then has something about hypertension enfusion?(might have that slightly wrong) .. mum has had high blood pressue for years (as well as diabetis and being epileptic- all which have been controlled well with med.) but why did she suddenly collapse after a short bout of breathing difficulties, (we thought was panic attack which she had prev.) she was then well for 20 mins, n then suddenly collapsed and died?could i have done anything to prevent it? why did she just stop breathing without prior warning? i am so confused.thank you

sudden death usually is either due to cardiac arrest due to arrhythmias.your mother had hypertension and diabetes , both being risk factors for ischaemic heart disease.this must have been severe enough to produce massive heart attack resulting into instant cardiac arrest...
