What Causes Sudden Vomiting And Diarrhea ?

hi 2 nights ago around 4 in the morning i got up vomiting and then had diarrhea then during the course of the day i vomit 2 times again and the diarrhea continued. now the following day everything happens to clear up but just a slight fever occur nothing minor what was the problem ?
