Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I drank Wednesday night. I was up all night and all day Thursday throwing up and nausous not feeling well at all. Almost felt like I had a bug. I still felt a little nauseous today. Is this normal? Is this from the alcohol and why? Could I be pregnant or is there maybe something wrong?
Hi. Thanks for your query. To recapitulate: Drank Wednesday night - was up all night and all day - Not feeling well, nausea and vomiting on Thursday, feels like a bug. This is not normal. Alcohol causes severe gastritis and can cause gastric ulcer, esophagitis and so on, hence the nausea, vomiting and so on. I would advise you the following: Take a PPI like Omeprazole, antacid and Domperidone for which you may need a prescription. Take soft bland diet, cold milk and ice cream. Sleep early, take rest. You will be fine. If the symptoms persist, please go for Upper GI endoscopy.
